More experienced, professional motivational speakers might earn $6,000 to $20,000 or more per speech.

Motivational speakers who have had extremely successful careers in politics, sports, education, entertainment, or the military can command per-speech fees of $30,000 or more. The booking fee for Bill Murray, for instance, is $100,000 or more, according to the All American Speakers Bureau. CNN Politics reported in 2018 that Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton received about $210,795 each per speech, from February 2001 through May 2016. It is important to note that earnings can be sporadic and depend wholly on the ability of the speaker to find clients and appointments. Since motivational speakers are self-employed, they must provide their own fringe benefits such as health insurance.
