Introduction
Charles Schwab is a savings and loan holding company that serves individual investors, advisors, and employers. Its team prioritizes deep understanding and expertise of financial planning in order to provide uniquely envisioned plans and strategies to make the most of its clients’ investments. TD Ameritrade merged with Charles Schwab in 2021. The two companies run independent business, but work together and share strategies to maximize clients’ investments.

The people here are always willing to help and answer any questions you have. Also, they push you to challenge yourself and bring in opportunities to learn which you never knew existed. 40 hours per week was expected, but there was some flexibility in setting your work hours. The company prioritizes employee needs and the work/life balance. However, sometimes there are nightly releases that adds a bit of work afterhours."

- "There was a phone screening interview followed by two virtual interviews, each 30 minutes. The initial phone screening was a pleasant experience. Feedback was given on how to navigate interviews better in preparation for the future hiring process. The interviewer was very kind to do this as they sincerely wished for my success. The virtual interviews went well too. It was the first time I was not nervous during the interview because they talked to me comfortably. They also made it more like a conversation than a typical Q&A format. The interviews were not that difficult. As a technology intern, there were no direct coding challenge as there usually is for the role. However, they did ask about technical concepts. This showed how the company does not emphasize the outcome a person can bring to benefit the company. Instead, they focus on the people themselves, and they are willing to put in the resources to develop your skills through this educational opportunity."
