Firsthand Findings

The most prevalent theme we were able to discern from Cicero Group employees when reviewing responses to our survey was teamwork. People are always willing to help each other. This includes providing coverage when teammates are on PTO, and it includes pitching in when somebody needs a hand. This tells us two things about Life at Cicero. First, it reinforces the camaraderie and sense of unity cultivated by a genuinely supportive culture. It also belies another underlying theme we found: that burnout is common.

Indeed, that very culture of teamwork seems to have developed in spite of the high-intensity demands of Cicero’s clients. So, as one survey respondent so adroitly put it, “this is not a firm for people who want to coast.” An enterprising mindset and a ...

Employee Reviews

  • “By far, the most talented leadership team that genuinely cares about the team, and invests in the team constantly. High expectations with all the resources and support provided to self-actualize.”
  • “You really do get an outstanding experience with amazing opportunities to develop as a business analyst. You get ownership opportunities and can learn some amazing skills in a short time. The salary and benefits package available to entry-level employees is less than average and can make the long hours even more difficult. It is amazing off the ground experience, but don't always feel the value they pay aligns with the expectations set. Almost like a full-time internship.”
  • “This is not a firm for people who want to coast. Being ambitious, innovative, and proactive are essential elements of this work.”
  • “There are not many places where you could walk in and say, “I'm having a hard time”, and everyone there would pick up everything on your plate to make tour life easier and to help. At Cicero that is a regular practice.”
  • “The culture of the firm is extremely healthy and collaborative, from top to bottom.”
  • “It's a very scrappy firm--if you're looking for streamlined processes, professional technology solutions, and deep levels of expertise, this isn't the right firm. If you want to be part of influencing how the firm grows, recommending new practices, and trial and error, this is a great place to come.”

Getting Hired Here

  • “There are several rounds of interviews, and we have strong recruiting pushes at the same time as other consulting firms, although we hire year round when needed. Callbacks can sometimes be delayed when the hiring team is swamped with applications, but they do get back to each prospective candidate. Initial interviews are done via automated video, and subsequent interviews are via video chat with employees.”
  • “There are three rounds with a video one-way, a two-way case video, and an on-site presentation. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker and a strong presenter with attention to detail and developed business acumen.”
  • “Interview process is very strong. All employees participate in interviewing and evaluating recruits, which helps foster a similar culture. Candidates go through 3 rounds of interviews which is a significant time investment for candidates and employees but it produces strong employees. Communication is lacking, as candidates often have to reach out to hear about their status.”
  • “3 rounds. Looking for strong critical thinkers who are team oriented. We also have a strong commitment to diversity.”
  • “An ideal candidate is smart, friendly, and has deep business acumen.”
  • “Cicero is looking for strong candidates in terms of academics and diversity.”
