In Case You Missed it: Week of August 17, 2009

Despite a slow week in the news (go on, name one story that we'll still be talking about next month), we've managed to keep ourselves busy here at Pink Slipped HQ. On Monday, for example, we dug out news of a competition for the best internship ever , while on Wednesday we busied ourselves by pointing out the opportunities to be had in greening Las Vegas. (That last one's worth clicking for the picture of Sin City alone).

Thursday was government day, with our take on the news that government hiring has increased since the onset of the recession prompting us to declare jobs in government as our career of the week. We even found some government jobs for you—with the IRS—which we included in Thursday's edition of jobs in your area.

All told, then, quite a busy week. Little wonder, then, that we're looking forward to the weekend with such gusto. We sincerely hope you are too, and that you'll find a way to enjoy yourselves and recharge your job-seeking batteries before resuming the hunt on Monday. As ever, we'll be "right here waiting for you." (Does anyone else feel a song—and some perfectly-coiffed male hair—coming on?)
