Wake Forest wins grant to increase diversity in graduate schools

Last week I wrote about Ohio University's College of Osteopathic Medicine introducing a new program to recruit medicine candidates as freshmen to encourage minorities to stay on and improve OhioHealth's ethnic makeup.

Today, Wake Forest University announced winning a renewed grant worth $1.4 million over four years for increasing diversity in its graduate schools. Specifically, to encourage minority students' enrollment in biomedical science programs at its School of Medicine, although the grant does cover all its graduate schools.

While it is encouraging news to see schools devoting more funding to increase diversity in their medicine schools, there is a long way to go. Are you currently a student at WFU's School of Medicine?
