Intern Reviews

  • “The culture here for interns is amazing. All of the regular, full-time employees treat interns with the utmost respect and really want you to learn about the job”
  • “Everyone is friendly and willing to help answer questions. My team would always try to get me out of work at my scheduled time so I was able to things outside of work.”
  • “The firm culture and overall environment is great! I love the people I work with and have always been treated with respect from all levels. It's a 40-hour work week, but the schedule is pretty flexible in terms of if you wanted to take a Friday or Monday off every once in a while. I usually did a half day on Fridays. My only concern was that my shift started at 6am and I had to commute about 40 minutes.”
  • “We were aimed to get 40 hours per week, but there was plenty of time for life activities outside of work. Everyone was friendly in the office making the culture an important aspect of the company.”

Why Intern Here

At Hormel Foods, we offer meaningful paid internship opportunities to help them get started. As an intern, you’ll apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to real-life work situations. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our company. Internships may be located at our corporate office in Austin, MN, or at one of our manufacturing plants or sales offices around the United States. We actively recruit for internship positions during the fall and winter months, but occasionally post internships during other times of the year. On average, 92% of our interns are offered a full-time job offer upon completion of their internships.

Getting Hired Here

  • “I was very pleased with the interview. It felt challenging to an appropriate extent but also conversational so that we could all decipher each other’s personalities. I really enjoyed having two interviewers to keep the conversation flowing.”
  • “I had two interviews one with an HR person and then one with multiple team members. The interview process was pretty casual and I feel I was chosen mostly on my previous experience and things I was involved in at school as they related to the roll a lot.”
  • “The interview process overall was needed and appropriate. However, the last interview was a little long. I did not think a 3 hour+ interview was totally necessary.”
  • “The process was long and thorough. However, I felt that the process was necessary and beneficial. The interviews were difficult because they asked unique questions that I had not heard before. They were very selective for their candidates.”
