Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a candidate to fill a full time Civil Designer position in the Tallahassee or Bonifay, FL office. Position Profile
Expect to perform a key role on infrastructure design projects, with emphasis upon providing roadway and site-civil planning and engineering services to Hanson clients. Position requires the ability to work on a variety of projects, take direction from multiple supervisors, and coordinate with other staff. It is important that this position support the project teams from initial planning through design to construction. This position may be an entry-level position geared for professional learning, growth, and increased responsibility.
The successful candidate will perform a key role on infrastructure design, planning, and PD&E projects, with an emphasis upon providing roadway and site-civil planning and engineering services to Hanson clients. 
A Day in Life of a Civil Designer at Hanson
As a civil designer you would be an integral part in our collaborative project-team culture.
Here’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:
<ul>
<li>Perform engineering calculations.</li>
<li>Utilize computer software for analysis and design.</li>
<li>Work efficiently with other team members for project completion.</li>
<li>Obtain permitting.</li>
<li>Collect existing physical data, and provide planning, design, and construction-related services.</li>
<li>Assist in project activities such as site investigations and field reconnaissance.</li>
<li>Process permit applications, computer modeling, and utility locations.</li>
<li>Construction document preparation, construction contractor pricing and procurement assistance.</li>
<li>Preparation of report findings and project close-out documentation assistance.</li>
<li>Collaborate with senior technical staff.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
What We’re Looking For
We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:
Technical Skills:
<ul><li>CAD experience and/or willingness to learn MicroStation and AutoCAD</li></ul>
<ul>
<li>Related site civil, transportation, stormwater, and water/sewer systems design software</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Power Point</li>
</ul>
Soft Skills:
<ul><li>Must be able to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new</li></ul>

<li>Strong oral communication and technical writing skills.</li>
<li>Must be able to build effective relationships with internal and external client bases.</li>

Education/Experience:

Engineering Technician
Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a candidate to fill a full time Structural Engineering Technician position in our Springfield, Illinois office. Other locations will be considered depending on qualifications of the candidate. This is a Government Market position.
Position Profile:
Provides support for projects involving, but not limited to building structures. This position requires thorough knowledge and accurate use of structural drafting techniques, computer operations, and structural engineering practices. This position recommends and implements design changes to resolve field problems and may require field verification work. Maintain technical knowledge with regards to computers, software, and design techniques learn and adapt to new programs and adjust to changes in product and client demands. Execute and adhere to quality assurance requirements.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Develop plans and related documents from architectural and engineering input; perform mathematical calculations and 3D modeling; and prepare, quantities, details, and other related requirements as part of the overall bidding/construction documents package.</li>
<li>Perform calculations and provide engineering solutions to complex problems with oversight from a professional engineer or supervisor/manager.</li>
<li>Adhere to project deadlines and keep supervising staff informed of any difficulties encountered on assignments.</li>
<li>Investigate field conditions and read and comprehend as-built drawings, construction specifications, client base standards and technical information to develop drawings.</li>
<li>Coordinate with project engineers, team members and others to understand, develop, and deliver drawings.</li>
<li>Execute and adhere to quality assurance and project documentation requirements.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Technical Skills: 
<ul><li>Demonstrated training and/or experience (preferred) with Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation and other related design software applications as required for plan production.</li></ul>
Soft Skills:
<ul>

<li>Associate in Computer Aid Drafting and Design (CADD) or Civil Engineering Associate commensurate related technical program preferred, but not required. Alternate training and experience will be considered in lieu of an Associate Degree.</li>
<li>On-the-job or classroom experience with development structural construction documents is preferred or show interest towards new assignments technical skills.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3-5 years of Revit experience preferred or entry level with an Associate’s Degree.</li>

Aspects of design include vertical and horizontal alignments, geometric design, intersections and interchanges, roadside safety, pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, pavement marking and signage, utility coordination, engineering studies, erosion control, drainage design, stormwater permitting and construction staging. Software including MicroStation with OpenRoads/Geopak or AutoCAD with Civil3D are often used for this work, which may include 3D modeling of the existing and proposed improvements.
