Want To Be A Trial Lawyer?

Then you’ve come to the right place Wilkinson Stekloff is an elite trial boutique, committed to two things—litigating the most significant trials throughout the nation, and developing the next generation of trial lawyers.

What does that mean for you?  It means you’ll see courtrooms and client meetings yourself, rather than just hearing about them from senior associates and partners.  You’ll get active encouragement and guidance on how to build your own skill set, rather than just focusing on making others look good.  You won’t just be in the rooms where it happens—you’ll be helping make wins happen.

And you’ll have fun, in a team-focused atmosphere that makes the inevitable late nights of legal practice enjoyable.  Our innovative billing structure will also allow you to truly unplug when those nights come to an end.

Who We Are

We have established ourselves as the go-to firm for bet-the-company trials, with a deep and growing bench of first- and second-chair trial lawyers. The market has taken notice—we have won multiple accolades, including being selected as Benchmark Litigation’s Boutique Firm of the Year . . . twice.

Our partners have tried over 130 cases to verdict.  Our team of approximately 40 attorneys includes:

a former American Lawyer Litigator of the Year and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, multiple Law360 “MVPs” for Trial Practice, five former federal prosecutors and a former federal defender, a former Special Assistant to the President and Associate Counsel in the White House Counsel’s Office, and former law clerks to federal trial and appellate judges across the country, including seven former Supreme Court clerks.

Our results speak for themselves.  We take on and win the most challenging cases before, during, and even after trial.  In just the last year, we won a complete defense verdict in a consumer class action that initially sought billions in damages and served as lead trial counsel in groundbreaking product liability and white-collar criminal trials.  We have also secured massive pretrial victories, including outright dismissal of a major securities class action and a novel federal enforcement action, and summary judgment for our client in a $10 billion antitrust class action suit just days after our codefendants paid hundreds of millions of dollars to settle.  We can litigate any case, anytime, anywhere.

Diversity And Inclusion

Jurors and judges expect to see trial lawyers who reflect the diversity of our country.  Our team does.  We are a majority woman-owned firm, and approximately 60% of our attorneys are women.  We prioritize all forms of diversity, not just among our associates but firm leadership as well.  Our team includes multiple attorneys of color, LGBTQ attorneys, and former military members.

But diversity is about more than just statistics—it’s about inclusion.  Our business model opens the doors for attorneys of all backgrounds to experience, firsthand, the highest levels of the profession, from high-stakes client meetings to major evidentiary hearings to crucial cross-examinations.  This unparalleled level of participation helps us and our clients succeed.

Pro Bono

We were recently recognized by Chambers & Partners as one of the two best pro bono programs of all law firms in the country, large and small. Vault has consistently ranked us as one of the top five midsize law firms for pro bono and noted that, “in terms of pro bono, the firm is all in, offering tremendous support for attorneys taking on such matters.” The Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice (LACLJ) named us as its Pro Bono Partner of the year.

These accolades are the product of a top-to-bottom commitment to pro bono practice. Led by our associates, we have won several pro bono trials, successfully argued many pro bono appeals, advocated on behalf of numerous victims of domestic violence, obtained the release of multiple defendants seeking resentencing under D.C. law for crimes committed when they were young, and filed impactful amicus briefs in cases across the country. All our lawyers are empowered to do whatever it takes for their clients, pro bono or otherwise, without pressures created by billable hours or time requirements.
