Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Our success as a firm is directly linked to our ability to create a community that is diverse, inclusive, and appreciative of differing points of view. From our roots as members of the Lawyers Commission for Civil Rights to serving as co-founders of the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice, inclusivity is a part of Lowenstein Sandler’s DNA.
Our internal policies include expansive parental leave for opposite-sex and same-sex couples, domestic partner benefits, an on-ramping period following return from parental leave, and flexible work arrangements that respect our employees’ individual work-life demands. Currently, 22 percent of our non-partner attorneys are in alternative career path roles. Remote work, or telecommuting, is available to attorneys. Attorneys also enjoy unlimited vacation time.
Lowenstein’s Employee Resource Groups (ERG) provide forums for career development, personal enrichment, community service, and fellowship. Celebrating cultural and social diversity, our Diversity Leadership Network, LGBTQ Alliance, and Women’s Initiative Network offer exciting programming and a space for authentic engagement for members, the firm, and the community. The Lowenstein Parents Network serves both attorneys and staff and provides much valued support, advice, and resources for the group’s members. The newest ERG, the Women’s Enrichment Initiative, provides professional development and networking opportunities for the firm’s women Business Resource Group members.

The firm is committed to assisting its employees in building their skills and careers and providing effective processes for accomplishing this. Lowenstein University (LSU) offers all employees convenient on-site opportunities to learn, broaden skills, share knowledge, and leverage the many resources the firm provides so that they can work more efficiently and effectively. Our Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program pairs each new attorney with a mentor who answers career questions, helps him or her integrate into the firm, and acquaints the attorney with firm culture and procedures.
The Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest
From its founding, Lowenstein Sandler has been committed to advancing the public interest. Now in its 11th year, the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest remains a robust advocate for individuals, organizations, and communities in need. The center collaborates with a wide array of organizations in providing pro bono legal services for:

• Tenants fighting eviction
• Low-income debtors
• Survivors of domestic violence
• Transgender individuals
• People with low-level criminal convictions
