Kasowitz is looking for personable types with a passion for litigation to fill its ranks. The firm has a relatively social culture, with attorneys frequently interacting throughout the day and attending regular social functions. About the Firm

Firm with a Mission

Kasowitz launched in 1993 in New York, when Marc Kasowitz, Dan Benson, and Hector Torres decided to develop a litigation shop that would tackle high-stakes matters efficiently and with innovative strategies. The founders’ vision was to create a firm that offered a client-driven approach while also embodying a non-hierarchical, collaborative atmosphere among its lawyers. Today, the firm’s three name partners continue to actively lead the firm in its client matters, diversity initiatives, associate development, and more.

Getting Hired Here

Hiring Process & Interview Questions

  • “Demonstrated interest in litigation, confidence, and character are paramount. The firm targets top schools but competes for top candidates broadly.”
  • “The firm is looking to hire individuals who went to top law schools and did well; but more than that, we're looking for the right fit. It has to be someone who can do the work and wants to be a litigator. Going even further, we often think, ‘Is this someone I would want to be there with me at 2 a.m.?’ when we interview candidates. Certainly, experience geared towards litigation is a plus/necessity to get hired.”
  • “Standard questions about interest in litigation, knowledge of the firm, law school and past legal experience, personal interests, etc.”
  • “Why do you want to work at Kasowitz?”
