Which Law Students Study the Most?

Professor Paul Caron of TaxProf Blog has taken a closer look at Princeton Review's new law school ranking. From his blog: "I have extracted from the individual profiles of the 172 law schools all of the available data to rank the schools in six categories. I will report each day on one of the ranking categories."

The first in the series is the highest and lowest study hours per day. Compiled using self-reported data from the Princeton Review student survey, Professor Caron says, the ranking is based on the average number of study hours per day.

What's striking is the number of top-tier law schools at the top of the fewest hours list—Yale Law School (No. 1!),Harvard Law School (No. 16), UT Austin (No. 4), USC Gould (No. 4), UCLA (No. 12), UC Berkeley (No. 21) and UVA (No. 24). With the average student studying so little, it must be easy to be a gunner. We hope that these students are spending their time in clinics and other extracurricular activities.
